Dosage dates are used as a way to determine student immunization compliance. The accuracy of the student’s compliance is based on an immunization’s dosage track(s) and student information. This article discusses all possible factors that determine immunization compliance. For details on how to enter dosage dates, please refer to this article. To review how an immunization is set up, please refer to this article.
When entering dosage dates, the system’s first priority is determining which dosage tracks are applicable. The system begins determining applicable dosage tracks by referencing the student’s First US School Grade Level. This value is initially auto-calculated but can be adjusted on the student’s immunization entry page. The system compares the student’s First US School Grade Level against the Valid Years listed on the dosage track. If the student’s First US School Grade Level is before the Start date or after the End date of a dosage track, the system will not consider that track. If a track is not appearing for the student due to the Start date or End date, you will need to edit the dosage track.
Next, the system will look at the student’s Grade Level based on the Min and Max set on the dosage track(s). The system will only show dosage tracks that match the student’s grade level. If no dosage tracks are applicable to that grade level, the immunization compliance field will be marked N/A. If a dosage track should be considered despite the Max grade level entered, check Applicable if student exceeds max grade level, and no other tracks are applicable.
The final consideration is the student's minimum age. The student must meet the Minimum Age set on the dosage track for the system to consider the track.
At this point, the system begins to make dosage track determinations based on the dosage dates entered. When the initial dosage date is entered, the system will display what dosage tracks are being met. The system will use the Min Age and Max Age month value(s) on the dosage tracks to determine which tracks are applicable. If no value is set for either field on the dosage track, the system will consider that as a valid track.
As more dates are entered, the system will narrow the dosage track options until one or more applicable tracks are fulfilled. If the dosage track matches the dates entered, the system will mark the immunization with a checkmark to indicate the student is compliant. If, after entering all dosage dates, the system is marking them as invalid, refer to the dosage track displayed below the dosage dates for more information.
