COVID-19 Immunizations

In this article you will learn how admins add COVID-19 to diseases to track immunization statuses in the Health Records module. This is different from COVID-19 Screenings, which focuses on symptoms. After completing the setup from this article, you can update immunization records and recalculate statuses just like other diseases.

The setup requires three steps:

1. Create COVID-19 Disease
2. Create COVID-19 Immunization Type(s)
3. Add Dosage Track(s)

Create COVID-19 Disease

The Health Records module tracks student immunity against disease types. For this reason, you need to create the COVID-19 disease before entering immunizations.

To create a COVID-19 disease:

1. Go to School Main > Health Records > Diseases
2. Select Create Disease
3. Enter the Description and other information (such as whether your school will require immunization for this disease)
4. Click Save

Create COVID-19 Immunization Type(s)

Immunization types are needed to track which vaccine a student receives. A single disease may have multiple immunization types. For example, you can track both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

To add a new immunization type:

1. Go to School Main > Health Records > Immunization Types
2. Select Create Immunization Type
3. Enter a Description (for example, COVID-19: Pfizer)
4. Choose the desired position for this vaccine among others in the Sort Order
5. Set the Diseases to the COVID-19 disease
6. Click Save

Repeat the steps for other COVID-19 vaccines. 

Add Dosage Tracks

Dosage tracks are needed to consider a student immune to diseases.

To add a dosage track for an immunization:

1. Go to School Main > Health Records > Immunization Types
2. Select dosage tracks next to an immunization
3. Select Create Track
4. Enter a Description for the dosage track
5. Enter the requirements and doses
6. (Optional) Use the blue plus button (+) to add more doses
7. Click Save
