In SchoolInsight, admins can enter historical grades in such a way that they are included on the ISBE Student Course Assignment file. Historical grades are typically input when a student newly transfers into the school or when a student earns grades at another school while also enrolled in your school. In order for historical grades to be reported in the file, the admin will need to link to an existing course in the catalog that has state data entered. Otherwise, the course may be included in the Student Course Assignment, but will be displayed with errors due to lack of required state data.
To include a historical grade in the ISBE Student Course Assignment file:
- Go to Admin Main > Grade Reporting > Historical Grades
- Enter Historical Grades or edit an existing one
- Enter Year Taken, Grade Level When Taken, and Grading Scale
- Check Credits Transferred From Another School if credits were earned at another school and the student has a dual enrollment
- Select Reported to state
- Select the Enrollment
- Search for and select an Existing Course
- Enter the Grade(s)
- Save
