This article explains how Missouri schools will configure dual credit classes. Dual credit classes are taught by certified high school instructors who have been approved to teach college-level classes. Successful completion of the class results in the student earning both high school and college credit. Before getting started with your dual credit classes, make sure to create the instructors who will be teaching the classes and create your colleges as external schools.

Classroom Instruction
Dual credit classes that are taught onsite in a classroom by an onsite teacher fall into the category of classroom instruction.
- Go to School Main > Classes/Sections > edit
- Set Instructor to the high school class instructor
- Set Position Code to Teacher
- Select the Dual Credit Site as the college to receive credit
- Set Site Type to District
- Save
ITV Instruction
For ITV instruction, the student is taking the class at the school via instructional television (ITV). This scenario includes technology such as Skype or interactive technology that allows for interactive feedback.
- Go to School Main > Classes/Sections > edit
- Set Instructor to the ITV class instructor
- Set Position Code to Teacher
- Select the Dual Credit Site as the college to receive credit
- Set Site Type to District
- Save
Virtual Instruction
Virtual instruction implies that the student is enrolled in an online course with a Missouri-certified teacher for virtual instruction.
Onsite at the School
- Go to School Main > Classes/Sections > edit
- Set Instructor to the teacher leading/supporting the instruction
- Set Position Code to Teacher
- Select the Dual Credit Site as the college to receive credit
- Set Site Type to District
- Select the Course Delivery System as Virtual Class - V
- Set Student Placement to Onsite
- Save
Offsite at Home
- Go to School Main > Classes/Sections > edit
- Set Instructor to the teacher leading/supporting the instruction
- Set Position Code to Teacher
- Select the Dual Credit Site as the college to receive credit
- Set Site Type to District
- Select Course Delivery System
- Virtual Class - V
- Set Student Placement to Offsite
- Set Virtual Attendance Hours Per Day
- Set Total Virtual Attendance Hours for Class
- Save
Virtual Attendance Hours Per Day
Daily in-seat hours equivalent to the hours if the course was offered at the school. For example, if the virtual course is equivalent to 1 class period and a class period is 1 hour, then the Virtual Attendance Hours Per Day is 1.
Total Virtual Attendance Hours for Class
Total equivalent in-seat hours for the duration of the course, if the course were to be offered at the school. For example, if the virtual course is equivalent to 1 class period and a class period is 1 hour and would meet 5 days a week for a total of 9 weeks, the total virtual attendance hours is 45.
