Several areas in TeacherEase/SchoolInsight allow you to download many files at once, such as student Online Registration or the Accounts Payable area in SchoolInsight Financials.
When this happens, enabling automatic downloads is needed to ensure that all files can be downloaded, and that you won’t get asked for a location of each individual file. We recommend only enabling automatic downloads for TeacherEase to ensure that files from malicious websites are not downloaded on your device. We will separate the methods of enabling automatic downloads into two categories:
Enabling automatic downloads via pop-up
The most common way to enable automatic downloads is during the process itself, as a pop up will appear the first time you click a download button for field that has multiple files. You can enable this setting by clicking Allow on the pop up. This process should be similar on every browser.
Enabling automatic downloads via settings
If automatic downloading is disabled, or you blocked it in the past, you can manually enable automatic downloads for TeacherEase. The process differs for each browser, however, all three will end with the same step, which is adding one of these three URLs listed below:
Please add the URL for the website that you use to access SchoolInsight day to day.
Chrome
To enable automatic downloads on Chrome:
- Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Additional permissions > Automatic downloads
- Press Add next to Allowed to automatically download multiple files
- Add one of the URLs from above
To ensure you aren’t prompted for a location on each individual file:
- Go to Settings > Downloads
- Choose a default download location
- Turn OFF “Ask where to save each file before downloading”
Windows Edge
To enable automatic downloads on Windows Edge:
- Go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Automatic downloads
- Click Add next to allow
- Add one of the URLs from above
To ensure you aren’t prompted for a location on each individual file:
- Go to Settings > Downloads
- Choose a default download location
- Turn OFF “Ask me what to do with each download”
Safari
To enable automatic downloads on Safari:
- Go to Safari > Preferences > Websites > Downloads
- Add one of the URLs from above
- Go to Safari > Preferences General
- Select a download location
Firefox
To enable automatic downloads on Firefox:
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Permissions
- Click Exceptions next to block pop-up windows
- Add one of the URLs from above
To ensure you aren’t prompted for a location on each individual file:
- Go to Settings > General
- Scroll down to Files and Applications (or search for Downloads)
- Choose a default download location
- Uncheck “Always ask you where to save files”
