Locker group and Locker Creation
Creating Locker Groups
Locker groups contain a series of student lockers based on the option set for Auto Assign lockers by during initial setup. If Auto Assign lockers by is changed, new homeroom instructors, teams, or grade levels will need to be assigned to locker groups before you can change lockers.
To create a locker group:
- Go To School Main > Lockers > Locker Groups
- Create Locker Group
- Enter a Description
- Select the Grade Level, Homeroom, or Team, depending on your locker option
- (Optional) Add a Note
-
If you wish to create lockers rather than import, you can do so at this time by checking Also create a series of lockers for this group
- (Optional) Enter a prefix
- Set the first and last number in the series of lockers
- Save
Creating lockers
Lockers can be created in three different ways: by importing a csv, through mass creation, or via individual creation. If you need to mass create lockers, and want to input locker combinations, we recommend importing them via a csv, as locker combinations can be imported at the same time. If you decide to import lockers, please refer to the attachment at the bottom of the page as an example.
To import lockers:
- Go To School Main > Lockers > Import Lockers
- Choose File
- Choose Delimiter
- Select a Preview Mode
- Preview
- If there are no errors, select Import
If you create lockers from within the system, you also have the option to assign the lockers to a group during creation.
To mass create lockers:
- Go To School Main > Lockers > Lockers
- Mass Create Lockers
- (Optional) Add a locker prefix
- Enter the First Number in the Series
- Enter the Last Number in the Series
-
Decide to add these lockers to a group
- No Group: The system will not assign this locker series to any locker group
- Use Existing: Choose from an already existing group for the new lockers
- Create New: If creating a new group, enter the relevant fields here
To create an individual locker:
- Go To School Main > Lockers > Lockers
- Create Locker
- Add a Locker Number
- (Optional) Choose a Locker Group
-
(Optional) Locker Combinations

From this locker groups page, you can also add and remove lockers to the groups themselves, in case lockers are switching groups between years.

To update combinations:
- Go To School Main > Lockers > Update Combinations
-
Select the changes made to each locker
- Use next combination ins sequence: uses the next combination in the sequence, with the last number going back to the start

If a locker needs to be deleted, there cannot be any student currently assigned to the locker.
To delete lockers:
- Go To School Main > Lockers > Lockers
- Click Delete on the specified locker
- Delete
Locker Assignment
Locker Assignment is used to assign students to Lockers. Lockers can be auto-assigned based on how Auto Assign Lockers by is configured in the locker options. Lockers can also be individually assigned to students, which can be useful in cases such as when two students who do not get along are put next to each other.
To Auto-Assign Lockers:
- Go To School Main > Lockers > Locker Assignment
- Select which grade levels will be assigned lockers
-
Tailor how the system generates the lockers with the following options:
- Exclude inactive students: determines if inactive students are given lockers
- Assign students alphabetically (uncheck for random): this determines if the students are randomly assigned lockers vs alphabetical.
- Reassign students already in lockers: This determines if the system will assign all students, or just students without an existing assignment
- Save
To Manually assign a locker:
- Go To School Main > Lockers > Locker Assignments
- Click Edit on the desired locker
- Choose which locker to assign to the student (or unassign them altogether)
- Choose which locker combination the student will use
- Save
