The first step in setting up the lunch module is configuring lunch options. These options allow you to customize the information that appears when scanning in lunches, such as displaying warnings on the screen, or allowing cash to be accepted at time of purchase,
To configure Lunch options:
- Go To Admin Main > Lunch > Options
- Edit
- Select desired options (below)
- Save

Show Balance for Students |
Enabling this setting will allow the lunch staff to see a students balance when entering in lunch information |
Show Price in order history |
Enabling this option will display previously scanned orders from the same day and allow you to delete mistaken entries. |
If balance is below threshold, display warning? |
This option will cause a popup to display when scanning lunch orders to inform the person doing the scanning that the balance is below a certain amount. That amount is defaulted to zero, but can be changed from this page. |
If balance is below threshold, display warning? |
This option will cause a popup to display when scanning lunch orders to inform the person doing the scanning that the balance is below a certain amount. That amount is defaulted to zero, but can be changed from this page. |
If balance is below threshold, disallow lunch orders? |
If this option will prevent students from getting a scanned lunch if their balance is below a certain number. The default value is negative ten dollars, but this amount can be adjusted from this page. |
Show allergy alerts for students? |
Enabling this setting will cause a students allergies to appear when scanning orders for that student so that the person handling lunch order can inform the student of potential allergy risks. |
Take a lunch count for each student? |
When enabled, this option allows instructors to take a lunch count during attendance for the cafeteria staff. This number is broken down by student. |
Allow students that didn't order a lunch item to still purchase that item? |
This option is primarily intended for schools that take a lunch count. This allows students who did not indicate they would be ordering a lunch during the lunch count to still get a lunch. |
If the exact same order is scanned twice in a row, display warning? |
When this option is enabled, a pop-up will display on the screen to let the person scanning know that the same order was scanned twice in a row. This is to ensure that a student does not accidentally get charged twice when in reality they only ordered one item, instead of two. |
If a 'Meal' food item is scanned a second time for a student during a meal, display warning? |
Similar to the above option, this will display a pop-up warning the person scanning the lunch order that this item has potentially already been entered into the system. This warning is meant to help ensure that a student is not accidentally charged for a duplicate meal. |
If an absent student is scanned, display warning? |
When this setting is activated, a pop will display if an absent student’s barcode is scanned. This is intended to serve as a warning so that students who are not present are not unintentionally charged for a meal |
Cash is accepted at point of sale? |
When enabled, this allows cash to be accepted at the time of purchase. Otherwise, students can only order with money that is pre-loaded ahead of time. |
Show Student Pictures when Scanning Lunch |
This setting causes a picture to display when scanning a students barcode, which can be useful for verifying that the student placing the order is the correct student |
Show Student Pictures when Selecting Orders |
This setting causes a picture to display when adding orders, which can be useful to ensure that the right student is getting the order |
Barcode Scanning |
This field is used to configure the number that is used when scanning a barcode on a meal card or meal sheet. The first option is to use the internal student/employee id, while the second option is to use unique student/employee numbers. This allows you to use a number such as school id for the meal cards. |
