The first step in implementing the Discipline module is configuring Discipline Options. These options include activating the ability to use discipline incidents, who has view or edit access to a student’s discipline incidents, and who can enter disciplinary actions and notify contacts of these incidents.
To configure Discipline Options:
- Go to District or School Main>Discipline> Options
- (District Level Only) Select which school to view
- Edit
- Select desired options (described below)
- Save

Description |
Allow staff to refer incidents to the administration for disciplinary action? |
This is the on/off switch for using discipline incidents. Set this option to allow staff to write and refer incidents to discipline admins. |
Automatically email ALL discipline admins when an incident is created? |
This option allows an email notification to be sent to all discipline admins any time a discipline incident is written. If this option is off, no automatic emails will be sent. |
Can admins with discipline permissions edit incidents assigned to other admins? | When this option is set, all discipline admins can edit any incident regardless of who the incident was assigned to. This is useful if the school has a team of discipline administrators who work together on the same incidents. |
Can instructors view action-only reports (suspensions, removed from class, etc) for students in their classes? |
This option gives instructors access to the disciplinary actions report. The report finds students who have received disciplinary actions for a given date. |
Allow instructors to enter actions when creating an incident? | Instructors can add a disciplinary action type to the incident when creating one. You control action types available to them in Action Types. This is helpful in cases where the instructor is responsible for some forms of disciplinary action. |
Allow instructors to publish incidents to the parent portal and send notifications? | When instructors can take disciplinary actions, it is helpful to also let them publish incidents on the parent portal and send notifications to parents (through the parent's selected communication channel). Instructors may also choose to notify disciplinary admins. |
What incidents can instructors view? |
Set incidents visibility to instructors. Many schools give view access to incidents the instructors wrote or pertaining to students in their class rosters. |
When can instructors view those incidents? |
Determine if instructors stop viewing incidents after an action is taken or the incident is closed by a disciplinary admin. |
