In this section you’ll learn how to create and update discipline incident locations. When creating an incident, observers can mark the location where it took place from a list. SchoolInsight populates this list with common locations, but you can update it as described below.
If there are locations missing from the list, you can create new locations.
To create a new discipline location:
- Go To District or School Main > Discipline > Locations
- (District Level Only) Select which school to view
- Create
- Enter a Description of the location
- Save
When editing a location, you can change its description or mark it inactive. When setting up locations for the first time, you may rename locations. If you want to rename a location that has been used, deactivate it and create a new location to ensure that incidents using the old location will not be affected.
To update a location:
- Go To District or School Main > Discipline > Locations
- (District Level Only) Select which school to view
- Edit the location
- (Optional) Change the Description
- (Optional) Change the Active status
- Save
