Scheduling teams are required in schools that have students on different bell schedules. Typically, schools have multiple bell schedules when class periods have different start/end times. Enabling Teams in Scheduling Options
In order to create a team, you first enable teams within the scheduling options. Schools with the advanced scheduling module have more options when setting up teams.
To enable team for the scheduling module:
- Go to Admin Main > Scheduling > Options > Edit
- If your mode is Manual Scheduling
- Select Students and instructors scheduled by team under the section
- If your mode is Manual Master Scheduling, Automated Student Scheduling or Fully Automated Scheduling
- You can also select the option to Automatically assign ALL students in a team to the same lunch period under the Automated Student Scheduling section
- Save
Creating Teams
For creating teams, it is recommended to have at least one team per bell schedule, although there is no hard limit to the amount of teams you can have.
To create teams:
- Go to Admin Main > Scheduling > Teams > Create Team
- Give your team a Name and assign Grade Levels as needed
- Save
Assigning Teams
Assigning students, teachers, and classes to teams is important to ensure they are assigned to the correct bell schedule.
Assigning Students to Teams
When Assigning students to teams, you can choose to assign them either manually or automatically. Automatic selection is based on demographic criteria.
To manually assign students to teams:
- Go to Admin Main > Scheduling > Teams
- Click Manually Assign Students
- Select a Team to Assign
- (Optional) Select Lock students in their teams
- Locking students prevents them from being assigned to other teams. This is useful when you are doing many manual assignments
- Select the students you want to assign to the team
- Save
To automatically assign students to teams:
- Go to Admin Main > Scheduling > Teams
- Click Auto Assign Students
- Select the Grade Level you want to assign
- Selecting a specific grade level will only assign students in that grade level to teams for that grade level
- Select the Demographics to balance on for the team assignments
- Select any Custom Fields you want to balance on
- Select if you want to use student avoids
- Preview
- Review the assignments and go Back if you want to make different choices
- Assign
Assigning Instructors to Teams
Assigning Instructors to teams can be useful to ensure they do not get scheduled for a class on different bell schedules. Instructors can also be directly assigned to a team.
To assign teachers to teams:
- Go to Admin Main > Scheduling > Teams
- Click Assign Instructors
- Select the team you want to assign to teacher
- If you would like an instructor to be assigned to multiple teams, hit the plus button and select another team
- Select teachers you want to assign to the team
- Instructors without a Team are currently not assigned to a team
- Instructors Already Assigned a Team are currently assigned to a team. Their current team is listed in parenthesis next to their name.

To directly assign a teacher to a team
- Go To Admin Main > Scheduling >Teams
- Click View on the team
- Click Assign Instructors
- Select teachers you to assign to the team
- Instructors without a Team are currently not assigned to a team
- Instructors Already Assigned a Team are currently assigned to a team. Their current team is listed in parenthesis next to their name.

Assigning Classes to Teams
Assigning classes ensures students are taking classes meant for their bell schedule.
To assign classes to teams:
- Go to Admin Main > Scheduling > Teams
- Click Assign Classes
- Select the team(s) you want to assign
- A class can only be on multiple teams if the teams use the same bell schedule
- You can filter for specific classes under the Classes to Edit section
- Team: Finds classes already assigned to a specific team
- Instructor: Finds classes assigned to a specific teacher
- Grade Level: Finds classes in a specific grade level
- Subject Area: Finds classes in a specific subject area
- Select the classes to edit
- Click Save
