As part of the yearly rollover process, schools should copy the groups they have created at each individual school level. Students should be promoted to the following year before performing the group copy. For example, you need to promote the students before you copy the “chess club” group; otherwise, the copied group will have no students in the “chess club” in the following year.
Admins and Instructors can Copy Groups:
Admins Copy Groups
To copy groups from one academic year to the next:
- Go to School Main > Groups
- Select the Academic Year to copy from
- Copy Groups
- Select an Academic Year to Copy to
- (Optional) Check Copy Students if the same students will be in the group in the following year
- This works when students are already promoted to the next year
- Check the box next to each Group you would like to copy
- Save
Instructors Copy Groups
Instructors have access to groups created by other users but may only copy groups that they have created for themselves.
To copy your groups from one academic year to the next:
- Go to Instructor Main > Tools > Groups
- Select an Academic Year to Copy to
- Copy Groups
- (Optional) Check Copy Students if the same students will be in the group in the following year
- This works when students are already promoted to the next year
- Check the box next to each Group you would like to copy
- Save
