Adding future attendance is useful if you know in advance that a student or group of students will be out on specific days in the future. For example, a parent schedules a dentist appointment or the students have a field trip. You can also use this feature to enter attendance in bulk for past days, such as marking all students absent for an emergency day.
If you are using self-contained attendance mode, typical at elementary schools, here are the steps to add Future Attendance:
- Go to Admin Main > Attendance > Daily Attendance
- If no attendance has been entered for the day, select create a blank day
- Select the More button
- Select Enter Future Attendance
- Set Student(s) to the applicable students, group, or grade levels
- To select multiple students individually:
- Choose Single Student
- Search for and select a student
- Click the blue plus sign at the top right corner and repeat
- To select all students, choose Grade Level and then Select All
- To select multiple students individually:
- Enter the First Date and Last Date that you wish to apply the future attendance to
- Select an Attendance Code
- Add any Notes
- Save
If you are using secondary attendance mode, typical at middle schools or high schools, these are the steps to add Future Attendance:
- Go to Admin Main > Attendance > Period Attendance Console
- Select Enter Future Attendance
- Set Student(s) to the applicable students, group, or grade levels
- To select multiple students individually
- Choose Single Student
- Search for and select a student
- Click the blue plus sign at the top right corner and repeat
- To select all students, choose Grade Level and then Select All
- To select multiple students individually
- Enter the First Date and Last Date that you wish to apply the future attendance to
- Select the type(s) of Future Attendance to enter. You can choose Daily Attendance, Period Attendance, or both types at once
- For Daily Attendance, select the Code
- For Period Attendance, select the Code and the Period Start and Period End times
- Add any Notes
- Save
