Responsibility centers are added to accounts to describe either a physical location or a grant that the transaction affects. As your district receives new grants, you may need to add new responsibility centers.
To add a new responsibility center:
- Go to Financials Main > Setup > Responsibility Centers
- Create Responsibility Center
- Enter a Code (1 digit) and Local Code if necessary
- e.g. If the full code is 47, then the Code should be 4 and the Local Code should be 7.
- Enter a Description
- Optionally, add an Abbreviation to display with account names and an Address
- Save
New expense accounts will need to be added to the Chart of Accounts to match the grant with the new RC code assigned.
