Before printing checks, choose the correct check format to align data with the appropriate fields on your check stock. Check format is configured per financial institution account, so each account can use different check formats if necessary.
To select a mode:
- Go to Financials Main > Setup > Financial Institution Accounts
- Use the down arrow to Edit each account that can print checks
- Select the appropriate Check Type and Check Stub Details settings (see below)
- Save
Check type
SchoolInsight Financials supports several check formats from different vendors so you can often continue using your remaining check stock you used in the past. When you run out of checks, we recommend switching to the Quickbooks Voucher Checks (check on top, no lines) format.
When printing, it’s important to remember that your print settings should be at 100% scale. Using options like “Default” or “Fit to Page” can cause the printed text to be misaligned with the check stock.
Check stub details
You can set the level of detail shown on check stubs to one of three different levels:
- One line per Invoice/Payroll Liability
One line is displayed per invoice, and no accounts are shown.
- One line per Invoice Account/Payroll Account
This mode shows one line per account debited, per invoice. If multiple line items on the same invoice are debiting the same account, they will be combined into one line. The debited account numbers are always listed.
- One line per Invoice Line Item/Payroll Account
This mode shows the maximum amount of details, including all debited account numbers and line item descriptions on AP checks. As payroll doesn’t have the same line items, this mode functions identically to One line per Invoice Account/Payroll Account when printing paychecks and payroll liability checks.
In any mode, if the check doesn’t have enough room to print all details, you will see a message warning you that lines were omitted.
