This article explains how to update your calendar for regular days of attendance, holidays, days off due to scheduled breaks and emergency days, as well as shortened or half days. Note that parent/teacher conference days and professional days have special rules associated with them. Click here to learn more about updating your calendar for these types of days.
The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) Wave collects calendar day data in the CalendarDate object at the beginning of the academic year and sporadically throughout the year. Therefore, admins need to set SchoolInsight calendar days as early in the academic year as possible and also update the calendar when the school schedule changes.
Before getting started, gather your calendar information. Important dates to note are:
- Regular days of attendance
- Holidays, breaks, and other days of planned non attendance
- Shortened days such as half days and partial/alternate days
- Emergency days
- Professional and parent/teacher conference days
There are 5 data fields that can be updated on each calendar date, however, only the first 2 data fields are required for all dates. Click here to learn more about the calendar data fields and how to set them.
