Honor roll can be configured to identify students with various levels of distinction based on their report card grades and GPA. The honor roll tool can also be used to identify students on academic probation. Once configured, admins can run the honor roll report and choose to include a student’s level of distinction on their report card.
Schools using weighted GPAs can choose to use either weighted or unweighted GPAs for honor roll calculations when running the honor roll report or displaying honor roll on report cards.

The honor roll scale allows for multiple levels of distinction. Levels should be organized from highest to lowest because if a student qualifies for the highest level, they will not be on the list for lower levels (e.g. a student who qualifies for the high honor roll will not appear on the list of regular honor roll students).
The honor roll determination looks only at report card grades in classes that count for GPA. To determine a student’s level of distinction mid-grading period, you may want to look at another report, such as Gradebook Eligibility.
The lowest honor roll level can be used to identify students on academic probation or that are otherwise underperforming. Using a minimum GPA of 0 on the lowest category will identify students with a GPA lower than the minimum GPA of the next highest category. A regular student level may be desired to set the maximum of the academic probation range or impose a lowest grade requirement.
To configure the honor roll scale:
- Go to School Main > Grade Reporting > Honor Roll Scale
- Set Honor Roll Scale
- Enter desired settings. The options are described below.
- Save
Minimum GPA |
Students must have a GPA greater than or equal to the minimum GPA in order to qualify for this level. |
Lowest Letter Grade Allowed |
Allows you to set a minimum letter grade that students must maintain in every class, as opposed to needing an average across all classes. Can require that students receive an A- or better in every class, or that students must not be failing any classes. Only classes that count toward GPA will be considered. |
Number of Grades Allowed |
Allows for more complex variations on the Lowest Letter Grade Allowed. For example, a student can qualify if they have a B in one class, but if they have two Bs, they will be disqualified. In that case, set B as the Lowest Letter Grade Allowed and 1 as the Number of Grades Allowed. Only classes that count toward GPA will be considered. |
Show on Report Cards |
Allows or prevents the specified honor roll type from showing up on a report card when report cards are configured to show honor roll |
