Grading periods, such as quarters and trimesters, are attached to each class to allow teachers to work in an isolated time frame. Assignments, grades, and attendance can only be entered in active grading periods. Once the grading period finishes, it can be marked as closed to hide it from menus and prevent accidental grade changes.
With a paid account, admins will typically modify grading periods at the school level, but instructors with free accounts must manage the grading periods themselves.
To change the active status of a class grading period:
- Go to Instructor Main > Gradebook > Setup
- Go to Subjects or Classes
- Use the menus to set grading periods Active or Closed as needed
- Save
