This article goes over how to review online registration forms within SchoolInsight. These forms can be reviewed by district admins or admins with online registration modify permission.

Managing Student Registrations
To manage student registrations:
- Go to Main > Online Registration > Manage Student Registrations
- Choose the online registration collector you are reviewing
On the manage student registration page, you can view important information about a student’s registration, such as if the student is returning for the upcoming school year, if their online registration fees are paid, and their current registration status.
On this page, you can also filter information to view only a specific subset of students, such as only viewing 9th grade registrations. Click the filter icon (), and it will bring a drop down to select items you want to filter. Once you’ve selected the item you wish to display, hit the filter button.
The manage student registrations page will display one of the following statuses for each student’s registration:
Registration Status | Description |
No Parent/Guardian Contact Yet | The parent has not yet started filling out online registration forms |
Parent/Guardian Entering Data | The parent is in the process of filling out online registration forms |
Approve Data and Update Student Record | The parent has submitted online registration forms, which are now ready to be reviewed |
Review File Uploads | An admin has reviewed the forms, but submitted files haven’t been reviewed yet |
Process Complete | The online registration process is complete from the parents’ and admins’ end |
Invalid Data, Needs Fixed | A field on a form has bad data and requires manual updates by an admin |
Reviewing Student Registrations
Once parents have begun submitting their forms, you can begin to review their data.
Single Student
To review a single student’s registration forms:
- Go to Main > Online Registration > Manage Student Registrations
- Select the Online Registration Collector you are reviewing
- (Optional) Apply any filters
- Hover over a student with the Approve Data and Update Student Record status and select Review ()
The student's registration will appear on the right side of the screen.
You can review a majority of fields entered in by parents/guardians. Existing data in the student record will appear in black text, and data submitted by the parent will appear in blue text. Admin edits made after parent/guardian submission will appear in green text. For example, the contact phone number used to be (914) 207-3436, but was updated by the parent to be (123) 421-3453. Afterwards, the admin reviewed it and set it back to (914) 207-3436.
When reviewing data entered by parents, hover over a field to access the following processing functionality:
Button Name | Button Symbol | Description |
Edit | Allows the admin to edit a parent’s response for a field and will default with the current value in the field | |
Undo | Reverts the data back to whatever was in the system prior to online registration | |
Mark Invalid | Marks the data as invalid. This has no real impact on the data and is meant strictly as a flag. Admins are responsible for either manually correcting the information or giving parents access to online registration once more to correct the information |
Any edits made during the review registration process will be saved once the Save and Show Next Student or Save only button is clicked.
If the family needs to fill out the form again or make any corrections, click Reset Forms (if you have enabled online registration fees, the reset button will be under the “More” option menu). Resetting the form opens up editing access to the form; it does not rollback any changes made the first time around.
Once you are done reviewing the data entered by parents during online registration, you can update the student’s registration status accordingly and proceed to the next step.
File Uploads
When reviewing a student’s registration forms, admin can click on a file upload to view it and hover over the field to access file upload processing functionality:

Mark Valid | Marks a file uploaded by a parent as Valid | |
Mark Invalid | Marks a file uploaded by a parent as invalid | |
Provided offline | Indicates that a parent has brought a file in person | |
Uploaded | Allows admin to delete or upload a file on behalf of a parent |

Apply Fees
When a parent makes an online payment, the registration fees are automatically applied to the student’s account and immediately zeroed out by the payment; therefore, there are no steps required by the admin.
If a payment is handled outside SchoolInsight (e.g. by check), an admin should apply registration fees at the time a payment is entered, or beforehand to indicate that a payment is required. Once the payment has been applied, mark the payment status to paid.
Multiple Students
Sometimes during online registration, there is a need to edit multiple student returning fields, registration status, or payment status at the same time.
To mass edit multiple students online registration forms:
- Go To Main > Online Registration > Manage Student Registrations
- Select the Online Registration Collector you are reviewing
- Mass Edit
- Configure the information to edit fields
- Select the students you wish to apply this information to
- Save
