How do I run analytics on the assessment?

Standards-based performance can be gathered from assessment test events and analyzed across classes in one or multiple schools.  This article explains how to run analytics to gain insight into student standards-based performance from assessments.

Before you can use assessment reporting tools, assessment tests and assessment test events need to be created.  The below articles explain how to get started with assessments.

Once assessment tests and events are created and the grades are entered, you can use SchoolInsight to gather the results and report on student performance.  There are two reports that can be used to do this:

Assessment Results

Standards-based Score Analysis

Assessment Results

The Assessment Results report is available to district and school admins.  Use this report to gather student performance results for a specific test event for all students across all schools and classes.  Additionally, drill into report details to view the test questions and student responses.

To generate an Assessment Results report

1. Go to (School District) Admin Main > Assessments > Assessment Results
2. Search for an SBL Group
3. Search for an Assessment Test Event
4. Run

Standards-based Score Analysis

The Standards-based Score Analysis feature is available to district and school admins as well as to instructors.  This feature allows you to create custom standards-based graphical reports that can be filtered and grouped. Additionally, admins can save custom report options so that the report can be run again at a later date.

For Admins, to generate the Standards-based Score Analysis of assessment data

1. Go to (School District) Admin Main > Standards-based Learning > Standards-based Score Analysis
2. Create New Report
3. Select Graph Type Histogram of Scores
4. Click show advanced
5. Select at least one of the following filters
• SBL Group
• Course
• Class
6. Select one or more Assessment Tests
7. Select one or more Assessment Test Events
8. Select additional Filters (optional)
9. Select a Group By option (optional)
10. Choose additional options (optional)
• As of Date
• Show Data Table
• Exclude inactive Roster Entries
• Include Formative/Practice Assignments
• Printable
11. Click Run or Save & Run

For Instructors, to generate the Standards-based Score Analysis of assessment data

1. Go to Instructor Main > Gradebook Reports > Standards-based Score Analysis
2. Select Graph Type Histogram of Scores
3. Click show advanced
4. Select at least one of the following filters
• SBL Group
• Course
• Class
5. Select one or more Assessment Tests
6. Select one or more Assessment Test Events
7. Select additional filters (optional)
8. Select Learning Targets
9. Select a Group By option (optional)
10. Choose additional options (optional)
• As of Date
• Show Data Table
• Exclude inactive Roster Entries
• Include Formative/Practice Assignments
• Printable
11. Click Run
