This article explains how to create and run custom eligibility thresholds for standards-based grades and how to configure at which level, district or school, these thresholds are controlled. Eligibility thresholds allow you to run a multi-tiered eligibility report, based on the overall standards-based grade and individual learning target scores.

How do I create an eligibility threshold?
Once you’ve decided at which level your eligibility thresholds will be controlled, you can begin building them. Please note that eligibility thresholds will be checked from top to bottom, and once a student has exceeded a threshold, they will not be checked for any subsequent thresholds. Thresholds must be created from most restrictive to least (i.e. check for 1.5, then 2, then 2.5). If the threshold is set to show to parents, it will display on all pages that show an overall grade, but will not show if an overall grade is not calculated for the grading scale in use.
- Go to [SD]Admin Main > Grade Reporting > Standards-based Eligibility Thresholds
- Create New Threshold
- Enter in the Code you’d like displayed when running the eligibility report, denoting that the student has reached the threshold
- Enter the full Description of your threshold
- Enter the Overall Score Thresholds (if applicable) for each standards-based grading scale. This only works if the grading scale has roll-up enabled and calculates an overall score
- This threshold is non-inclusive, so a student’s score must be below the threshold. If the score matches the number for the threshold, they will not trigger the threshold
- Enter the individual Learning Target Threshold (if applicable) score for each scale
- This threshold is non-inclusive, so a student’s score must be below the threshold. If the score matches the number for the threshold, they will not trigger the threshold
- Enter the Minimum Learning Targets, which is the minimum number of learning targets on which the student must be below the learning target score threshold in order to trigger the threshold
- If you’d like the threshold displayed on the Parent/Student portal and on report cards, check Show to Parents
- Save
