This article explains how Oklahoma schools will enter attendance for students who are on out-of-school suspension to match the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) reporting requirements. Such students should be marked absent/excused throughout their out-of-school suspension. Schools may report half-day and full-day suspensions in accordance with the minutes per day guidelines issued by the state.
Before entering this attendance information, review your attendance codes to meet the OSDE suspension reporting criteria. Click here to read about how to add Oklahoma out-of-school suspension codes to SchoolInsight.
Schools that maintain both period attendance and daily attendance will need to enter the out-of-school suspension code for both period attendance and daily attendance. On the other hand, schools who maintain only daily attendance will only need to enter the out-of-school suspension code for daily attendance.
