The Hourly algorithm is typically used to indicate a rate at which employees are paid per hour. Since the number of hours worked per pay period may very, the bookkeeper enters the numbers of hours in every payroll register.
However, despite its name, this Hourly algorithm does not need to be used to indicate an hourly rate. Instead, it may also be used to pay employees per day, per class period, per bus route, and so on.
To create a Daily payroll item or similar:
- Go to Financials Main > Payroll > District Payroll Items
- Create Payroll Item
- Description: e.g. Daily
- Calculation Step: Wages
- Payroll Item Type: Wage
- Algorithm: Hourly
- Expenditures: Leave them all placeholders
- Liability Account: Use FF-L471 in IL or FF-NNNN-2171 in MO
- Subtotal Types: Set all to +
- Save
Just like Hourly items and other payroll items, you may create multiple versions if you wish to use more specific descriptions (e.g. Regular Bus Route, Overnight Bus Route, etc.).
