The code migration tool allows admins to consolidate code sets from the school level up to the district level. For example, it allows combining several attendance codes from multiple schools so there is one set for the entire district.
Currently, you can migrate the following code sets:
- Discipline Incident Types
- District/School Main > Code sets> Discipline Incident Types
- Discipline Action Types
- District/School Main > Code Sets > Discipline Action Types
- Attendance Codes
- District/School Main > Code Sets > Attendance Codes
Once codes are migrated, new entries will point to the new district level codes. Data from previous years will continue to point to the original school level codes. To simplify reporting, it is recommended that you complete any planned code migration in between academic years.
The migration tool works the same way on attendance, discipline, etc. Below, we will list instructions for discipline, but you can use the same steps for other code sets as well.
To run the Discipline migration tool:
- Go to Main > Code Sets > Discipline Incidents
- Migrate Incident Types
- Review Incident types created at an individual school
- Select one of the following actions for those incident types
- Leave this code at the school level: This code will remain at the school level. You can run the tool later to change this option
- Recreate this code at the district: This school code will be marked inactive, and an identical version will be created at the District level to replace it
- Merge into another code: This will merge this code into another code. Merge codes that are the same but have different names.
