Districts that purchase a different system may need to extract their data from SchoolInsight. This may be done to migrate it to their new system, or maintain academic records. SchoolInsight offers a variety of tools to generate information, so you can store your report cards, transcripts, courses, student information, etc.
This article will cover:
Exporting Report Cards and Transcripts
When exporting grades, the most important pieces of information you will need are report cards and transcripts. We recommend generating this data for all academic years and all schools within the district.
Report cards
Please look at the following article for information on how to print report cards. Once you have generated the report card, hit “ctrl + p” to print, and select save as pdf to store a digital copy for your records.
Transcripts
Transcripts are generated per year, so we recommend going through the following steps for the past several academic years. Please look at the following article for information on how to generate transcripts. Once you have generated the transcript, hit “ctrl + p” to print, and select save as pdf to store a digital copy for your records.
Exporting School Data
SchoolInsight has a variety of reports to export data from your school, such as student information, or attendance info.
Exporting via Imports/Exports
The import/export page allows you to mass export data for a variety of different items in SchoolInsight. All the reports follow a similar format, with the exception of our export student data. For exporting student data, we recommend looking at the following article.
To run an export:
- Go To (School District) Admin Main > Import/Export

- Choose how to filter the export
- Choose how to sort the export
- Choose what fields to show on the export
- Select a method of exporting the report
- Export
Exporting via custom details report
To export student data, contact data, fee data, or discipline data, we recommend using a classic custom report, which can export all those pieces of information. For more information on running this type of report, please look at the following article.
Exporting information via Enterprise Data Access
Subscribers to Enterprise Data Access have one additional method for exporting data from the system: data queries. Data queries allow you to get more detailed information on a variety of different systems from within SchoolInsight. For information on creating a data query, please look at the following article.
