TeacherEase includes the option to create easily-accessible online quizzes. A standards-based online quiz is an assignment in TeacherEase that is accessed and completed by students in the student portal. There are multiple ways to access standards-based quiz grade entry. The purpose of this article is to introduce options that describe best practices that meet the needs of the three most common scenarios:
- Enter quiz grades for one student at a time
- Enter quiz grades for all students at once
- Mass enter quiz learning target grades
Enter Quiz Grades for One Student at a Time
Use this option when you would like to see and grade all quiz answers for a single student. This option is good to use when a student hands-in work late or when you are grading assignments that have not all been turned in.
To enter grades for one student at a time:
- Instructor Main > Gradebook > Standards-Based Scores
- Select the desired Class/Subject to enter grades for
- expand all
- Notice that an icon appears in cells where the student has Handed-In the assignment
- Click on the cell where the assignment, learning target, student name intersect
- If the assignment has not been turned in by the student, Force Student Hand-In
- Review answers and enter grades
- Enter the Score and Standard Score for questions that are not auto-graded
- edit score of auto-graded answers that need correction
- Select an option to complete the grade entry
- Feedback Complete, Return to Student
- Reassign
- Send Email
- Save and Close
Enter Quiz Grades for All Students at Once
Use this option when you would like to see and grade all student answers for each quiz question, at the same time. After grading each question, you will advance to grading all student work for the next question. This is the best way to grade quiz answers for many students at the same time.
To enter grades for all students at once:
- Instructor Main > Gradebook > Standards-Based Scores
- Select the desired Class/Subject to enter grades for
- expand all
- Notice that an icon appears in cells where the student has Handed-In the assignment
- Click on the name of the assignment at the top of the standard-based scores grid
- Scroll to the desired question to grade and click review
- Edit Scores
- Enter a Standard Score and Feedback for each student
- Select an option to complete the grade entry
- Save and Continue to Next Question
- Save Only
- Back
Mass Enter Quiz Learning Target Grades
Use this option to set ungraded quiz learning targets to the same grade for many students. This the best way to enter learning target grades when you determine that many students performed at the same proficiency level for a specific learning target.
To mass enter quiz learning target grades:
- Instructor Main > Gradebook > Standards-Based Scores
- Select the desired Class/Subject to enter grades for
- expand all
- Notice that an icon appears in cells where the student has Handed-In the assignment
- Click on the arrow in the column of the assignment and learning target to be mass edited
- Mass Enter Scores
- Enter the standards-based score for all students who do not already have a grade
- Save
