How do I add an instructor to a class?

Admins most commonly need to add instructors to a class in two situations:

  • Classes were created or copied before the list of instructor assignments was finalized
  • An additional instructor needs access to the class data

Note that both primary and secondary instructors have permission to create, edit, and access data in that class.

To add an instructor to one class:

  1. Go to Admin Main > Classes/Sections
  2. Find the class you want to change
  3. Click edit in the right-hand column
  4. In the Instructor section, select an instructor from the dropdown menu
  5. If you would like to add an additional instructor:
    • Click the blue plus sign
    • Then select an instructor from the second dropdown menu
  6. Save

 

To add an instructor to many classes at once:

    1. Go to Admin Main > Classes/Sections
    2. Click Mass Edit
    3. In the Instructor section, choose Add Instructor(s) to classes
    4. Choose the new instructor from the dropdown list
    5. In the Classes to Edit table, select all classes to which this instructor should be added
    6. Save
