Percentage based GPA is derived from official report card grades, course credits, and the corresponding total grading periods. The calculation system to derive the GPA allows grades for courses of higher credit value and duration to have a higher impact on the overall GPA, and this is taken into account when calculating yearly and cumulative GPAs as well.
Please note that only courses with percentage based grading scales are factored into percentage-based GPAs. Courses that use points based grading scale shall not be considered when calculating percentage-based GPAs. Such courses are dropped from the GPA calculation altogether.
