How do I manage learning target permissions?

Learning target permissions determine whether learning targets will be managed by admins on courses or by instructors, who manage learning targets for their own classes.  The option to manage learning target permissions is aligned with course permissions.  As such, when courses are district managed, learning target permissions are managed at the district level also.  When courses are school managed, then learning target permissions are managed at the school level.  

To configure learning target permissions at the school level:

  1. School Admin Main > Options > Permissions
  2. Select the academic year
  3. Edit
  4. View the Yearly Instructor Options
  5. Select or deselect Can modify learning targets
  6. Save

To configure learning target permissions at the district level:

  1. District Admin Main > Options > School Permissions
  2. Select the academic year
  3. Edit
  4. View the Learning Targets option and select the desired learning target permission
    • Learning Targets Managed On Courses or Instructors Can Manage
  5. Save

Note that permissions can be modified until the time that learning targets are added to assignments.  If it is necessary to change permissions after learning targets have been added to assignments, the option to set permissions can be re-enabled by removing learning targets from assignments.
