How do I create a summary grading period?

In SchoolInsight, admins can create summary grading periods to collect an overall grade from one or more grading periods. Grades from summary grading periods are typically reported as official grades for state reporting or transcript purposes. A semester one grading period that averages the grades from first and second quarter grading periods would be an example of a summary grading period.

To create a summary grading period:

  1. (School District) Admin Main > Grading Periods
  2. Create Grading Period
  3. Select one of the available summary grading periods:
    • Sem #1 (summary)
    • Sem #2 (summary)
    • Final (summary)
  4. Choose where this should appear in the grading period list
  5. Save Only
