This article explains how to edit daily periods from an existing bell schedule. If you have not created a bell schedule yet, please refer to the following article. Usually, you start by adding new daily periods or removing redundant ones first. Next, you update remaining daily periods to adjust their start/end times to the new school day. We recommend changing daily periods during yearly rollover (before the new academic year starts), because these changes impacts attendance calculations.
The three operations to change daily periods are:
Edit an Existing Daily Period
To edit a daily period from the bell schedule:
- Go to Admin Main > Scheduling > Bell Schedules
- Click Daily Periods
- Click to edit a daily period
- Modify title, abbreviation, weight, optional statusand sorting position as needed
- Adjust start and end times as needed
- Configure which cycle days the period meets
- In order to unschedule a daily period from one of your cycle days, all classes that meet during that period on the cycle day in question must first be unscheduled.

Add a New Daily Period
To add a new daily period to the bell schedule:
- Go to Admin Main > Scheduling > Bell Schedules
- Click Daily Periods
- Create Daily Period
- Configure description, abbreviation, weight, optional status,and sorting position
- Select which cycle days the daily period will be meeting
- Enter a period start and end time for each cycle day
- Save
Note: After the new period is created, you will schedule classes on it in the master schedule.
Delete an Existing Daily Period
Note: Before a daily period can be deleted, unschedule all classes scheduled to meet during that period.
To delete a daily period from the bell schedule:
- Go to Admin Main > Scheduling > Bell Schedules
- Click Daily Periods
- Click to delete the daily period
- Delete
